Realizing I’m not Johnny Tsunami

One of the worst decisions I’ve made whilst living in the ROK has to be the time that I decided that I was fully capable of snowboarding without proper lessons. I headed out, board in hand, prepared to take on the snow with my limited knowledge of long boards and skiing, ready to “tear it up”, or whatever it is the kids say nowadays. For some reason, I was convinced that it wouldn’t be a big deal. I was so wrong.

Cut to a few months (and one limping ego) later, and I decided to join a group of friends on a ski trip to High 1 resort in Gohan. This time, I rented skis and took it slow. The trip was a success, I didn’t fall once, there was a hot tub and pizza, and I lived to tell the tale. Win.

My friends and I stayed in a condo at the resort thanks to Enjoy Korea. If you’re interested in taking group tours and trips, definitely check them out. I’ve been on multiple trips with them and they never disappoint. They basically do all of the work so you can show up and enjoy the events.
Check out their facebook page here for future events.
